About Moorefield Real Estate

Moorefield Real Estate is the culmination of a lifetime of hard work and experience, and founded by our namesake — Ken Moorefield.

Ken was a super agent topping the area in sales for many years in row throughout his 40+ year career, all in the Rocky Mount Area! He worked as an agent for a local real estate firm in town, and was also a custom home builder for many years during his storied career!

When the "great recession" began in 2008, Ken saw things in a different light than many of his peers in the real estate business. Ken saw it as an opportunity to open his own firm and named it Moorefield Real Estate. He started with only himself and a couple of agents in the Spring of 2009. He hand-picked the agents he hired over the next 5 years and built it into the Top Firm in Rocky Mount. He eventually outgrew his small office on Circle Drive. He then bought and renovated the building that Moorefield Real Estate currently occupies in 2011. We opened here in January of 2012 and love our location and it's proximity to all necessities.

Ken took on 2 partners that helped him grow the business in 2013 and sold to them in 2015 with the understanding that they would maintain the company's stellar requirements and standards to be a Moorefield Agent. Ken remained as a top agent and a member of management until his passing in September 2019. Moorefield Real Estate is now owned and manged by two of Ken's personally trained agents and dear friends. Adam Bartholomew is one of the owners and the Broker-In-Charge, and Jay Hooks is the other owner and an original founding member of the Firm. Together they manage, train, and sell real estate in the same manner that Ken Moorefield would appreciate still today.
